Offline maps of an area: download in advance

An event’s map pack downloads with one button and kicks in when the connection drops.

  1. Open the card of the event you’re riding. The “My registration” block (after the finish — your result card) has a cloud button — “Location map”. The app works out the area from the route.
  2. Wait for the download over Wi-Fi. The pack includes the base map, terrain, contour lines, and satellite imagery — an area weighs 10 to 40 MB.
  3. Nothing more to do after that: when the connection drops, the event’s maps switch to the downloaded pack by themselves — village and road labels included. The satellite button on the map works without a network too: imagery comes from the pack.
  4. To see how much space the packs take and clean them up, go to Profile — the “Offline maps” section.
Download the map at home: in the forest there may not be enough signal even to download the pack. Track recording works without a map and without a connection — it doesn’t depend on the basemap.
The area the app caches during a recording pulls satellite imagery over Wi-Fi only — the imagery is heavy, and we’re not going to burn your mobile data on it in the field. Offline packs are cut for Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Spain (including the Canary Islands); outside this coverage the app says so plainly.
