Fewer animations: the Reduce Motion setting

If animations get in the way or make you queasy, there is nothing to switch inside the app: it reads your phone’s system setting and, since the September 2026 update, follows it on every screen.

1. iPhone: Settings → Accessibility → Motion → turn on “Reduce Motion”.
2. Android: Settings → Accessibility → “Remove animations” (some vendors call it “Disable animations”).
3. No restart needed: the setting is picked up immediately, even if you toggle it without leaving the app.

What changes. Screen sections appear in place instead of rising from below; buttons dim slightly when pressed instead of shrinking; the “breathing” core of the record button, the next-start pulse and the glint on the resident card stop; entrance cascades don’t play.

What stays. Everything that tells you about state: toasts fading out, the upload indicator, the hold ring on the start and SOS buttons, the “recording” badge.
